Babafela Awosile

I am Dr. Babafela Awosile, a public health researcher passionate about exploring the intersections of microbiology, antimicrobial resistance, epidemiology, and One Health. My work is driven by a deep commitment to improving health outcomes through science, data, and collaboration across human, animal, and environmental health systems.

Through The Awosile Lab, I lead a team focused on conducting meaningful research, mentoring the next generation of scientists, and translating findings into actions that can shape policy and practice. I believe that solving today’s global health challenges requires more than knowledge, it requires people who are equipped, inspired, and empowered to lead change.

AMR Drivers in Africa and Plans for Action

In this webinar, organized by The Global Health Network, University of Oxford, I was invited to share my thoughts on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) drivers in Africa and plans for action at the One Health interface. In this presentation, I shared the factors driving AMR across the One Health interface in Africa and around the world, and actionable steps to mitigate the development.

Foundations | One Health

In this panel discussion, I joined colleagues and faculty from the School of Veterinary Medicine at Texas Tech University to explore health challenges facing rural communities. Nothing comes easy in these areas, including healthcare, and through the lens of One Health, we examined how human, animal, and environmental health are connected.
